CAPITAL LEAGUE 2026

We will have teams across all Capital League division 1 (high level, competitive) to division 6 (more social / beginner).

Playing Capital League in 2026
Our Capital League teams for 2026 have now been selected. If you didn't attend trials but still wish to play, please contact anuwfc@gmail.com and let us know what division you'd like to play for and what position you play. We'll advise whether there are any spots available.
Registration
There are two parts to registration, and both must be completed by 20 March 2026.
-
Part One: registration through the ANU Sport portal - this covers payment of the ANUWFC club membership fee, as well as the ANU Sport club affiliation/membership fee (for non-students).
-
Part Two: registration through the PlayFootball portal - this covers payment of the Capital Football fee.
Detailed instructions to complete both of these have been emailed to players.
Before you get started!
If you are experiencing financial hardship, or foresee issues making all the payments prior to 20 March, please:
-
Consider applying for the Heather Reid AM Bursary.
-
Email the club at anuwfc@gmail.com to discuss payment plan options. A payment plan will allow you to split your registration fees evenly over four payments, but must be arranged before you complete your PlayFootball registration.
How much will it cost to play?
2026 costs are:
Students = $417.74
Non-students = $612.37
Strollers = $533.37 (non-training team)
These costs cover your registration with Capital Football and ANU Sport (if you're not a student / ANU Sport member), club fees, insurance, field hire, referees, and the equipment you'll use at training and in games.
When do I need to register by?
If you're intending to play round 1, you need to register no later than 20 March 2026. If you register after 20 March, your participation will be limited to training until your registration is processed.
What if I can't afford rego?
To support players we have the Heather Reid AM Bursary and payment plans available. The Bursary covers the ANUWFC component of registration ($140.37 for students, $205 for non-students, and $126 for Strollers) and payment plans allow you to pay your registration across four even payments.
Click here to apply for the Heather Reid AM Bursary.
Email anuwfc@gmail.com if you'd like to enter into a payment plan.
PLEASE NOTE: you need to make these arrangements BEFORE you register.
Equipment grant for students
A grant to purchase sporting equipment is available to ANU students, via ANU Sport. Find out more about it and apply here.
When is training, and do I have to attend all trainings?
Trainings are held twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last season there was a 6pm-7:30pm and a 7:30pm-9pm slot on each night. It is expected that you attend at least 50% of training sessions (i.e. at least once a week). However, different coaches may have different expectations for their teams.
Injury clinic
Need to see a physio? Take advantage of our injury clinic by booking a free 15 min appointment at PhysioSport O'Connor. Bookings should be made by calling the clinic on 9161 6959 by midday Mondays, and appointments will be from 3-4 on Monday afternoons. The injury clinic kicks off from 13 April 2026 and will run all season.
If you need physio sessions after that, PhysioSport can hook you up with discounted rates - just let them know you play at ANUWFC.
Uniforms / kits
The basic compulsory equipment of a player includes:
-
A jersey: ANUWFC will supply players with a jersey for the season. If undergarments are worn, the colour of the sleeve must be the same main colour as the sleeve of the jersey or shirt.
-
Shorts: ANUWFC plays in royal blue shorts that can be purchased from the club or from a sports clothing store. If undershorts or tights are worn, they must be the same main colour of the shorts.
-
Socks: Royal blue socks can be purchased from the club or from a sports clothing store. If tape or similar material is applied externally it must be the same colour as that part of the stockings it is applied to.
-
Shin guards
-
Studded boots
You'll be provided your jersey by the club, but must supply the rest of your own kit.
Game days, fixtures, and results
All women's games are played on Sundays. Some games will be at our home ground on the ANU campus, and others at opposition home grounds.
In 2026, the season will start on 12 April and finish on 16 August, with finals to follow. There are no games on 25 April or 19 July.
Kick off times are the same each week, and will depend on your division:
10am: Divisions 3 and 6
12pm: Divisions 2 and 5
2pm: Divisions 1 and 4.
Your coach will no doubt ask you to come early to warm up and talk tactics, and every coach has their own preferences when it comes to arrival times. Make sure you check arrival time, and allow for travel time!
Throughout the season, there are some non-game weekends. Games may also be postponed or cancelled due to wet weather, so keep an eye on the Capital Football website, and your team's group chat on game days.
Game information such as fixtures, results, and ladders can be found on the Dribl website and app. We recommend you also download the Dribl app for quick and easy access to your team's info!
Team communications
All teams will setup a group chat with players and coaches. Having a group chat is important to organise social activities, drinks after the game, and letting everyone know of last minute changes on training or game days for you or your team!
Injuries and insurance
Unfortunately injuries can happen. Please see the Player welfare page for information about what happens if you become injured.
Player welfare
If something in your team or around the club doesn't feel right, the first point of contact is always your coach. If you think your coach is not able to resolve the issue, is unwilling to do so, or you don't feel comfortable speaking to them about it, please contact our Player Welfare Officer, Charlotte, at training or via anuwfcplayerwelfare@gmail.com.
All communication will be kept confidential and we will check with you before disclosing the information you provide to anyone else. See the Player welfare page for more information about welfare.
Our coaches
Our coaches are central to our community, creating a space where players feel valued and are encouraged to bring their best selves each week. The impact they make at the Club lasts well beyond each season, building memories and a legacy of positivity and growth. In 2026, our delightful coaches are:
