About us
Learn What We’re About
ANU Women’s Football Club is the oldest women's football club in the ACT, established in 1978 by a bunch of ANU staff who decided to create the first women's only football club. We have been led by women and for women since inception, and have been participating in ACT state league community competitions for over 42 years. We are open to all members of the community (you don't need to be an ANU student to join!)
In 2021, we have 11 teams representing the club in all 6 ACT State League divisions. We are a strong force in the Capital Football Women's State League competitions placing a team in the final or semi-finals in most (if not all divisions) most seasons. Our success relies on our strong belief in community, sportsmanship, player and coach excellence, and our commitment to providing all our members safe and inclusive environment. Our vision is to become the best football club in the region, a club where our players can be part of a fun and friendly community while being well supported to participate in football and develop their game.
We are always welcoming new players to the club and if you would like to join please contact us on anuwfc@gmail.com.
Our training sessions are held at Willows Oval and Fellows Oval on ANU campus, on Tuesdays and Thursdays (free parking on site). All ANUWFC teams have a coach-led training sessions on these two days so training is split into 90 minute slots and alternate between 6pm – 7:30pm and 7:30pm – 9pm.
