Your 2021 Exec & Committee
Meet The Exec
Football position: I usually play forward or mid-field. I think I am too clumsy to be a defender
When I am not playing football, or watching football, or thinking about football, or working on club business, you will likely see me enjoying a cold craft beer somewhere outside or at a music gig somewhere. I am trying to learn to play the Ukulele, but I am awfully bad at it. I won’t be changing professions anytime soon.
“The thing about football - the important thing about football - is that it is not just about football.” Terry Pratchett
Football Position: Centre Back
I’ve played the tuba for 10 years, do flying trapeze and can juggle with my hands but not my feet! I love politics, study Arabic & Mandarin, and have worked as a junior girls football coach for 5 years.
I have grown up playing football, and it has taught me so many things I continue to value. ANUWFC has given me a home in Canberra and some of my closest friends including 2 house mates. Football means a huge amount to me not to sound cheesy but being part of the committee allows me to give back to my community and foster an incredible environment for all of our club.
Football Position: Right full-back (I like to think I’m a wing back but I’m not that speedy!)
I, in fact, do not have a life outside of football. You can see me on a weekend at a Canberra United game in the highlighter green bucket hat. We have also been working on a petition to improve the quality of fields in Women’s State League – so that has also been taking up some of my time! Football is the reason why I have so many strong, powerful and like-minded women as friends. It is the best way to keep fit, with the added bonus of abs from all the laughter. ANUWFC has an amazing club culture of friendship, growth and support. I have been part of this club for 5 years and I could not be happier I joined!
Football Position: Left Defender
I have played soccer since I was in primary school and have always loved it! I also live on a farm just outside Canberra where I love to ride horses, breed doves and propagate a large variety of plants. I am going into my third and final year of a commerce degree at ANU and am working part-time in a Canberra based Accounting Firm.
